Families are invited to celebrate the end of the summer with a weekend of dazzling fireworks and mighty superheroes at Gulliver’s Land.
The Superhero Summer Finale takes place on Saturday 5 September at the Milton Keynes theme park, with the fireworks lighting up the night sky around 8.45pm*.
The opening hours for rides and attractions will be extended from 10.30am until 8.30pm, meaning more time for guests to enjoy their favourites!
Sue Conway, resort director at Gulliver’s Land, said: “Superheroes and fireworks – it doesn’t get any better than that! The event promises to be an exceptionally colourful end of season show at the resort.
“Youngsters and adults are encouraged to dress up as their favourite superhero, and we’ll also have special superhero challenges lined up, with some character displays, all topped off by entertainment throughout.”
With so many rides, attractions, shows and activities to enjoy at Gulliver’s Land, the longer opening hours will come in handy for families.
The exciting rides and attractions on offer at Gulliver’s Land include The Runaway Train, Jungle River Ride, Dragon Siege 360-degree pendulum, and the Grand Prix Racers rollercoaster, along with recent additions the Upside Down House and the Wriggler ride.
Gulliver’s Land also has a fantastic range of accommodation options, including Princess Suites, JCB Suites, Dinosaur and Unicorn-themed lodges, Western Lodges and Woodland Lodges.

Midsummer Place’s summer Safari in the City has got off to a roaring start, with families heading into Milton Keynes to enjoy the free wildlife-inspired experience.
The campaign was officially launched on Saturday 1 August with Safari Live, where visitors came face-to-face with life-size orangutan and panda characters, enjoyed free face painting, and took part in special wildlife-themed workshops delivered by Woburn Safari Park, alongside plenty more safari-inspired fun. The launch proved hugely popular with families, with children getting involved in the activities, meeting the characters and exploring the giant grass animals located throughout Midsummer Place.
The free family trail, running throughout the summer holidays until 30 August, has already attracted strong visitor numbers and positive feedback from families enjoying the opportunity to combine a day of shopping with a fun activity for children.
Created in partnership with Woburn Safari Park, the experience encourages families to explore Midsummer Place, discover the animals and enjoy a little taste of the safari in the heart of Milton Keynes.
Visitors can also enter a competition to win one of five family tickets to Woburn Safari Park, extending the adventure beyond Midsummer Place.

Families, friends and nature lovers are invited to celebrate the 10th birthday of Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve at Love Wetlands Day!
On Friday 21 August 2026, from 12pm to 4pm there’ll be wildlife discovery, hands-on activities and outdoor fun for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy a range of crafts and activities, discover more about local habitats and species, meet wildlife organisations, and learn how they can help protect and support nature across Milton Keynes.
Love Wetlands Day offers a unique opportunity to explore one of Milton Keynes’ most important nature reserves while celebrating the diverse wildlife that calls the city’s wetlands home. From self-guided trails and nature-themed crafts like heritage weaving to outdoor wellbeing sessions and getting to know local organisations.
There’ll be lots of inspiration (for young and old minds) with wildlife insights from Butterfly Conservation, Wolverton Swifts, the Woodland Trust, and the Dragonfly Society as well as activities with MK Arts Centre, MK NHS, and an artwork gallery created by residents from Camphill Communities.

‘The Beach’ is back for the summer, at leading shopping destination; centre:mk from 17 July – 31 August 2026, with a ‘Great British Seaside’ theme. Middleton Hall (outside John Lewis and partners) has undergone a transformation into the UK’s largest ‘beach’ in an indoor shopping destination, made up of 102 tonnes of sand!
The FREE to enter attraction has become a firm favourite amongst visitors who have been eagerly enquiring about its return and is back with all the usual attractions plus some new additions.
‘The Beach’ this year has brought in all the wonderful classics you’d hope to find at the great British seaside including free Punch & Judy shows, as well as deckchairs and seating areas for families and children to play in the sand and soak up the atmosphere. There are also bungees, train rides and even an indoor rollercoaster plus pop-up stalls from the centre’s retailers to add to the fun.

Families are being invited to go wild this summer as Midsummer Place launches its brand-new FREE Safari in the City experience this July.
Running from 18 July until 30 August, the exciting summer installation will transform the shopping centre into an immersive safari-themed trail, featuring ten striking animal sculptures positioned throughout the centre for families to discover.
The collection includes a gorilla, zebra, giraffe, lion, rhino and elephant, with many of the species featured directly linked to animals that can be seen in real life at Woburn Safari Park, the exclusive partner for the campaign.

Families visiting Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes this summer can look forward to an exciting programme of live entertainment, as Summer Soundwaves takes centre stage with a daily line-up of music, dance and interactive activities.
Running from July 25 to September 6, Summer Soundwaves at Gulliver’s Land will create a vibrant festival atmosphere across the resort, delivering entertainment for all ages throughout the day.
Visitors can enjoy Buddy’s Buccaneer Boogie, a lively, pirate-themed performance packed with music and audience participation, or step into the spotlight at K-Pop Karousel, featuring glitter face painting and energetic karaoke sessions.
There’s also Disco Dodgems, where guests can enjoy a bumpy boogie to their favourite tunes, along with Rides & Vibes – LIVE!, offering a chance to relax and soak up the summer sounds.
Each day will end on a high with DJ Leonard headlining the Festival Finale, combining music and dance to create a feel-good finish to a fun-filled day.

Blending interactive storytelling, folklore and playful performance, this immersive promenade experience courtesy of Black Sheep Collective invites audiences to become part of the adventure.
Along the way, you’ll encounter vibrant tales from around the world — from the clever spider Anansi, to the powerful spirit of Mamma Wata, and the curious legend of the Wolf Bride.
Each story carries a hidden moral, revealing timeless lessons about wisdom, honesty, and embracing the unknown.
Perfect for families and community audiences, Cabinet of Curiosities transforms the Museum into a living storybook, where high streets become stages and audiences become explorers.
Expect humour, music, audience participation and moments of magic as stories unfold and connections are made.
At its heart, this is a celebration of community, curiosity and shared experience — reminding us that stories have the power to bring us together, shape who we are, and guide how we live.
Performances are Wednesday, August 5 – Friday, August 7, at midday, and again at 1.30pm.
A scavenger hunt will also run throughout the day, and all the usual Museum attractions will be open.
