Reunion event announced for The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes
The countdown begins for the most anticipated reunion of the decade as 5000 ravers prepare to converge at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes on 2nd November 2024. Sanctuary Forever: The Return to V7 Saxon Street marks the monumental return to the same city, the same land, and the same address as where The Sanctuary once stood, a historic music venue that shaped the electronic dance music scene.
Originally utilised as a music venue by ESP Promotions, The Sanctuary opened its doors in December 1991, becoming the birthplace for the legendary Dreamscape raves. It quickly evolved into a pivotal hub that shaped various underground electronic dance music genres and styles. The venue hosted a myriad of iconic promoters and events, including Dreamscape, Helter Skelter, Slammin Vinyl, Gatecrasher, Hardcore Heaven, Cream, Slinky, Uproar, Sidewinder, and Godskitchen. Its 12-hour all-night events attracted a national audience and etched memories that still resonate with music enthusiasts today.
Beyond the rave culture, The Sanctuary also played host to renowned live music acts, featuring performances by The Cult, The Prodigy, Brand New Heavies, Gary Numan, and Paul Weller, solidifying its place in music history.
After an unforgettable journey that spanned over a decade, The Sanctuary bid farewell on July 10th, 2004, with rave promoter Slammin Vinyl hosting the venue’s final event.
Now, after 20 years, Sanctuary Forever: The Return to V7 Saxon Street promises an electrifying 11-hour rave, paying tribute to the monumental impact of The Sanctuary and commemorating its official return to V7 Saxon Street. The event boasts an incredible lineup yet to be announced, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
