ABOUT THE COURSE:
Objective: The students will learn how to use air drying clay and how to build up layers of clay to create a relief form. The students will be given a demonstration on applying various techniques when creating a relief.
Activity: During the workshop the students will use images or sketches of the chosen subject that they have sourced to create a relief. Various reliefs made by the artist will be provided as samples. The students will sculpt the image and then refine it with shaping tools and sandpaper. The students will explore a variety of textures while imprinting a surface and detailing the relief form.
