How to improve inclusion, diversity and belonging in Milton Keynes?

This is a FREE event via Zoom

Key thinkers from a range of industries discuss the complex subject of inclusion and diversity, especially in relation to racial and ethnic issues. Speakers have been asked to identify concerns and changes they would like to see, whether related to health, policing, education, hate crimes, social cohesion, access to services, employment, or representations in the media, for example. The event will be moderated by Fidele Mutwarasibo, trustee of MK Gallery and an independent consultant, activist and change agent on various issues including immigration, human rights and hate crimes.

Speakers include:

-Boni Adeliyi, Black Lives Matter Protest organiser and drama student

-Sas Amoah, Co-Chair BME Network, The Open University

-Councillor Carole Baume, Cabinet Member for Economy and Culture, Milton Keynes Council

-Dr Amina Easat-Daas, lecturer in politics at De Montfort University with research interests including gendered Islamophobia studies

-Martha George, retired Nurse and member of MK University Hospital, Liberty and the Women’s Federation for World Peace.

-Roz Mascarenhas, youth worker with over 20 years experience of working with young people in the community

-Hannah Olarewaju, works in the music industry, and runs creative projects such as themusicroom

-Gamiel Yafai, Founder of Diversity Marketplace, a specialist consultancy for equality, diversity and inclusion
