Following the recent success of Hofesh Shechter Company’s tour of POLITICAL MOTHER UNPLUGGED, the company’s award winning development and performance training programme for world-class young dancers, Shechter II, returns with Contemporary Dance 2.0.
Originally made in 2019 by Hofesh Shechter for the GöteborgsOperans Danskompani, Contemporary Dance 2.0 combines Shechter’s signature ensemble work with an eclectic sound-score of throbbing beats, pulsating hip hop, folk and Bach to bring club-like euphoria and abandon.
In a work that is dipped in ironic references to pop culture and making a playful take on Shechter’s own art form, in Contemporary Dance 2.0 only one thing is certain, the dancers do it their way.
