Design a Flag for Milton Keynes

Next year, Her Majesty the Queen will have reigned for 70 years. Several UK towns will be made into cities as part of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. We hope Milton Keynes will be one of them.

Milton Keynes Council is inviting schoolchildren to design a flag for MK to be included in our city bid seen by The Queen. It will also be made into a real flag and flown.

They are looking for designs which show why people can be proud of Milton Keynes. This might be the wonderful green spaces, welcoming community or unique history. Think about what you would like to say and celebrate about MK.

Also remember that flags need to be seen from far away so keep your idea simple, clear and bold. It can be black and white, or colour.

Please sketch out your idea on the space provided on this DOWNLOADABLE TEMPLATE

If you prefer to design your flag digitally please use the same dimensions.

Email a clear photo or scan of your final design with contact details for a parent, carer or teacher and with your name and age to [email protected] or post it marked ‘Flag Competition’ to Culture Team, Milton Keynes Council, Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ.
