Visitors to Stowe Landscape Gardens in Buckinghamshire can enjoy free entry to these beautiful National Trust gardens. As an early Christmas present, the gardens will be entirely free to walk around and enjoy during November and December. The gardens’ opening times have been extended to be open every Wednesday through to Sunday.

On Friday 11 February 2011 at 1:30pm a stunning ice sculpted heart will be carved live, centre stage in Queen’s Court at thecentre:mk. The giant ice sculpture will symbolise the essence of Valentine’s day, encasing a single red rose and a sparkling engagement ring.
Located on the first floor of the Central Library, the Discover Milton Keynes exhibitions showcase takes over from the successful phase 1 shop unit in thecentre:mk, which closed at the end of September 2010. During the two and a half years that Discover MK was in thecentre:mk the average number of monthly visits more than tripled from 1,000 per month in 2008 to over 3,000 per month in 2010.
The date for the 2011 Theatre District Mascot Olympics has been set for Saturday 11 June and organisers are asking local charities to step forward if they would like to be the main beneficiary of the event.
The Christmas gift wrapping service in Midsummer Place has raised £7000 for charity Advantage Africa in just three weeks. Woburn Safari Park is celebrating the birth of its first Rothschild giraffe to be born in 2009. This birth signals another major success for the park’s breeding programme of the most endangered of the nine subspecies of giraffe. Born during on Friday 24 July, the new male giraffe has been named ‘Jambo’ which means ‘hello’ in Swahili. You can see Jambo now at the Safari Park!

On 13 June, the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) will hold the UK’s first ever ski-a-thon, at the SNO!zone in the Xscape Milton Keynes. Sonic the Hedgehog will open the 12-hour event by leading the skiers and snowboarders in the first leg, down the indoor slope.
Winning more awards than any other play in history, Stephen Daldry’s epic West End and Broadway production of J.B Priestley’s classic thriller An Inspector Calls returns to the Milton Keynes Theatre from 28 April. Written at the end of the Second World War and set before the First, the play is a brilliantly compelling and haunting thriller by one of this country’s leading post-war dramatists.
The first ever Tour Series in Britain’s history will be kicked off in Milton Keynes on 21 May, with the spectacular cycle races taking place right in the heart of the city. The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) visits Milton Keynes Theatre from 4 - 8 November with their new production of William Shakespeare’s epic tale of thwarted love, Romeo and Juliet. Featuring a company of 23 actors and a seven-piece live band on stage, this is a boldly theatrical new staging of Shakespeare’s fast-moving story of two teenagers torn apart by their families’ vendetta.
