This remembrance season, MK Chorale presents three remarkable works from France, America and England that each explore illumination, solace and hope.

Opening with the blazing and arresting brilliance of Lili Boulanger’s Hymne au Soleil (Hymn to the Sun), the first half of the concert then focuses on the serene beauty and shining harmonies of Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. Howard Goodall’s remarkable Eternal Light forms the second half of the concert. In the spirit of Brahms’s requiem, Goodall aims to provide solace to the living who mourn, and pairs extracts of traditional texts from the Requiem mass with some of the finest English poetry of the last 500 years.
