MyMiltonKeynes shortlisted for 2019 National Transport Awards

Milton Keynes Business Improvement District, along with its partners Vivacity Labs and Milton Keynes Council, has been shortlisted for a national award that recognises its contribution towards the successful development of the nation’s transport infrastructure.

Supported by the Department for Transport and Transport Focus, MyMiltonKeynes’ Mobile App, which solves some of the biggest transport issues in and around the centre of Milton Keynes, has been recognised for its innovative car parking space finder and live MyBus location feature.

The 2019 National Transport Awards will take place at the Westminster Park Plaza, London on 31st October and will include a keynote speech from The Rt Hon Grant Shapps MP, Secretary of State for Transport, and will be hosted by stand-up comedian and comedy writer, Jo Caulfield.

Melanie Beck, Chief Executive of MyMiltonKeynes explains: “We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for such a high profile award, and to be representing Milton Keynes in a room full of major players within the transport sector.

“The success of our MyBus and MySpace initiatives has come as a wonderful surprise, as despite the number of suggestions we had for this type of transport service, we had our reservations about how many people would actually use it…

“…it turns out that the answer was lots, more than 6,500 so far in fact! Just last month we celebrated the 25,000th journey taken on our employee shuttle service and we couldn’t be prouder.”
