MyMiltonKeynes charity Fashion Show is a huge success
Last month, local Business Improvement District (BID), MyMiltonKeynes, hosted a hugely successful fashion show, in partnership with John Lewis Milton Keynes, with more than 80 guests enjoying fun, fizz and fashion in order to raise vital funds for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity.
With ticket sales, a raffle, partner sales and a tombola totally more than £4,500, the event raised almost twice its fundraising target for a new chemo chair, and with any shortfall to be made up by MyMiltonKeynes, the hospital will soon benefit from two new chairs for its cancer unit.
Speaking at the MyMiltonKeynes Fashion Show event, Vanessa Holmes, Head of Charity at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity told guests: “Chemotherapy is an awful thing for anyone to have to experience and patients can often be sitting in a chair for many hours on end. Anything we can do to help make their journey more bearable is vitally important and MK Hospital Charity is very grateful to the BID, John Lewis, the fashion show team and everyone who has supported this fantastic fundraising event.”
Melanie Beck MBE, CEO of MyMiltonKeynes, says: “We were overwhelmed by the response to our Spring Celebration Fashion Show and we’re so pleased to have doubled our fundraising target as a result, which will go a long way in supporting patients.
“Thank you to the BID team and all of the partners at John Lewis for making it such a successful and memorable event, raising funds for some hugely beneficial new facilities at Milton Keynes Hospital.” For more information about MyMiltonKeynes, visit www.mymiltonkeynes.co.uk and keep up to date with all of the latest information from Your Business Improvement District by following @MyMiltonKeynes on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
