Love Nature Day returns to Milton Keynes

The Parks Trust, the self-financing charity that looks after more than 6,000 acres of parkland in Milton Keynes, has joined forces with local nature groups to create an entire day dedicated to celebrating Milton Keynes’ natural world, and everyone is invited!

Love Nature Day takes place on Saturday 2 July from 11am until 4pm at Howe Park Wood and aims to bring local people close up to nature. There will be lots of fun things to do inside Howe Park Wood’s Education and Visitor Centre, and even more to explore outside in the stunning local woodland which is home to a wide array of species.

What’s in store:

  • Bug-hunt and pond-dip to find minibeasts
  • Enjoy guided walks around the ancient woodland with RSPB
  • Watch a bird-ringing demonstration and hear why it matters
  • View exciting specimens provided by the Natural History Museum at Tring
  • Speak with experts from UK Astronomy about how to safely observe the sun
  • See beautiful living moths close up
  • Meet North Bucks Bat Group and ask all about fascinating flying mammals
  • Observe honeybees at work in their hive
  • Join artist Kate Wyatt at a workshop
  • Create wildflower seed parcels with Bucks Buzzing
  • Listen to Wolverton Town Band playing alongside the famous Howe Park Wood Frogs, enjoy story-telling and take part in outdoor games

Howe Park Wood has great facilities for visitors including Grounds café and public toilets. Parking is limited on site but there’s plenty of space at Westcroft shopping centre.
