Last chance to light up your winter at dazzling festival

Time is running out to visit a spectacular light and lantern festival in Milton Keynes that has dazzled tens of thousands of guests this winter.

The stunning Land of Lights light and lantern festival, at Gulliver’s Land Theme Park Resort, has already welcomed more than 60,000 people, with thousands more expected before it closes on Sunday, February 26.

The festival, which began in November, features a one-mile-long wonderland of illuminations spread across 12 vivid dreamworlds. They include colourful, gigantic lanterns inspired by animals, mega monuments and wonders of the natural world.

There will be a host of celebrations to coincide with the final month of the festival, including Valentine’s Day and the half-term holiday beginning February 13.

Guests can explore the enchanting installations, which include more than 7,000 individual lanterns and hundreds of thousands LED lights. The experience features an eclectic mix of music and entertainment, and festive food, street-eats and seasonal drinks are available for purchase.

A special 25% discount is available on January and February visits to the Land of Lights Festival (excluding Saturdays) when using the online code GLOWUP. Visits must be booked online before January 31.

For those wanting to extend the magic, illuminating short breaks are also available staying within the Land of Lights trail. The immersive sleepovers include a range of unique accommodation options.

Darren Hoy, Land of Lights Festival Manager, said: “We are thrilled to have welcomed more than 60,000 people from Milton Keynes and across the country to Land of Lights – an amazing number which has far exceeded our expectations.

“The festival has delighted tens of thousands of families and brought a welcome economic boost to Milton Keynes. With about a month left until the festival comes to a close, there are still plenty of special occasions and opportunities to visit and brighten up your winter with a magical family-friendly experience.

“We can’t wait to welcome even more visitors in January and February and have exciting plans to bring back Land of Lights for winter 2023 better and brighter than ever. Watch this space for details!”

More than 100 people were involved in the hand-crafted production process for Land of Lights. It was undertaken by the American-owned Zigong Lantern Group, an award winning, custom designer and manufacturer of handcrafted lamp art that has grown to become one of the largest exporters of lantern art.

Tickets for Land of Lights are available from £19 (without the discount code) when booked more than two days in advance.
