Join The Old Lawnmower Club at Milton Keynes Museum

The sound of the mower and the smell of freshly cut grass epitomise hazy summer days, and even though we don’t all enjoy dragging the cutter around, we all love the results of a tidy and trim garden.

After Covid forced an October meeting in 2021, The Old Lawnmower Club – which boasts more than 500 members worldwide – is hosting its annual rally at Milton Keynes Museum in the more conventional month of May this year.

Anyone with an interest in the development of these invaluable garden assistants will want to pay a visit with 100s of mowers expected to line up, and they serve as a fascinating look at machinery through the years.

In addition to the rare mowers on show from club members, the Museum’s own fine collection will be open; the Museum is home to some of the earliest examples in existence.

The event is ‘edging’ nearer, and everyone is invited to visit on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22 to check out the machinery of days past, and see some in action.

Standard admission prices apply – which will also give you FREE entry for the following 12 months; adults £12, child £8, concessions £10.
