Homeworld 2021 – Design, Marketing & Event brief

Milton Keynes Council’s Culture Team is seeking to appoint a creative design agency to deliver the branding design, marketing (including social media) and online events management for the two upcoming Homeworld 1981 40th anniversary programmes:

  1. Homeworld Heritage, May 2021, with MK audience-based programme highlighted below, and
  2. Homeworld Future, September 2021, international focussed programme, TBC.

Homeworld 1981 was a significant and nationally important Housing Expo, commissioned by Milton Keynes Development Corporation. This ambitious and pioneering undertaking put Milton Keynes on the map as an innovative leader in environmentally sustainable housing design. Celebrating this important contribution will be the focus of Homeworld Heritage in May 2021.

Forty years on, Milton Keynes Council (MKC) is looking to support housing innovation once more as the local authority works to deliver housing, carbon reduction and clean energy targets. A new MKC owned housing company, a community-led housing and neighbourhood regeneration plan and a ‘world’s greenest city’ aspiration with sustainability, carbon positive and retrofit targets are all in place. Inviting contemporary pioneers who are at the forefront of new innovative, liveable housing design to share their experience, intelligence and ideas, will be the thematic focus of Homeworld Future in September 2021.

The continued uncertainty over Covid-19 means that for May 2021, the majority of the events are planned to take place online, with September delivering the in-person activity if possible.

The Fee envisaged for this work is £5,000 inclusive of all costs and VAT. The deadline for responses is 4pm, Wednesday 10 February 2021.
