Celebrations for the winners at the MK Food & Leisure Awards

The Milton Keynes Food & Leisure Awards certainly looked different this year. Unable to hold the glitzy black-tie event, it moved online for a virtual awards evening. However, customers had still been able to vote for their favourite businesses throughout the year and over 10000 votes were received, showing that the public were keen to support local businesses during this difficult time.

Organiser, Steven Dryden-Hall, said that despite the logistical challenges, it was well worth holding the awards this year. “Winning an award can only help the visibility of a business and it’s a moment of excitement at a difficult time that helps to recognise the hard work that the staff have put in throughout the year.”

Congratulations to restaurants Pin Petch, The Three Trees, The Cherry Tree and Bella Italia, best takeaway Tasty MK, best street food Eat is Greek and newcomers Mrs Mac’s Sweet Treats. The best artisan local food product was awarded to The Willen Ice-cream Company for their Simply Dairy Ice-cream, and the best artisan local drink product went to Concrete Cow Brewery for their Stables Gold beer to mark 50 years of The Stables. The hard work of Jack Robinson and Louise Cuthbert has been recognised in the best waiter and waitress categories.
