All new Grotto and Hamleys to open at centre:mk

To get visitors into the Christmas spirit, a brand new Peter Rabbit™ themed Grotto experience will sit at the heart of Middleton Hall at centre:mk, a space the size of a football pitch, making it one of the largest grottos in the UK this year. The grotto will launch for the centre’s reopening on Wednesday 2 December, promising festive fun for the entire family. The centre sees a brand new Christmas decoration scheme this year with seven selfie-spots lighting up centre:mk forming a festive trail. The installations include Rudolph, a giant teddy bear and a snowman, providing visitors with the perfect Instagram moments and ensuring a small piece of normality for children at a key time of year.

Santa’s Grotto with Peter Rabbit™ and friends will offer an immersive theatrical experience brought to life by actors playing the part of Peter Rabbit™ and his friends. Guests will meet all of their favourite Beatrix Potter characters, including Squirrel Nutkin, Mr. Tod and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, before meeting Santa. Each family will have the opportunity to spend 25 to 30 minutes enjoying the show within a safe, socially distanced environment.

Just a stone’s throw away from the Grotto, world-renowned Hamleys will also open its first ever bricks and mortar pop-up store at the centre, offering visitors the ultimate festive day out in December. The British toy emporium will offer shoppers an impressive toy wonderland, brimming with games, puzzles, and arts and crafts from well-known brands such as LEGO, Barbie and Playmobil, as well as stocking Hamleys’ own exclusive toy collections. The pop-up will feature expert toy demonstrations and exciting in-store appearances from much-loved characters, creating an engaging experience for all ages over the Christmas period.
