Taking the Stage and Screen – celebrating women in theatre and film

A four-day festival that puts women playwrights and filmmakers in the spotlight returns to MK Gallery from 30th March to 2nd April.

Inequality is still a huge issue in the arts. For years women have been treated differently to their male counterparts and have felt invisible because of it.

Curated by Milton Keynes based theatre company, The Play’s The Thing, this festival aims to champion women and showcase the incredible work they do within the arts industry.

Festival visitors will enjoy:
- Newly commissioned plays by award winning and local female playwrights
- New pieces from young creatives at MK College and our newly formed Creative Youth Board with MK Theatre
- Conversations and debates with industry professionals
- Curated films from African female filmmakers

Festival Tickets & Passes There are a variety of ticket options available to buy for the festival: Saturday Day Pass £30 allows access to all the festival events on Saturday 2 April. Simply click on the Book Now button and select the Saturday 2 April at 10am option. Once you have completed your purchase of the Saturday pass, go back into the events online and you will be able to book a ticket for each event and the discount will automatically applied if logged into your account. Festival Pass £60 allows access to all of the events during the four day festival. Simply click on the Book Now button and select the Wednesday 30 March at 7pm option. Once you have completed your purchase of the festival pass, go back into the events online and you will be able to book a ticket for each event and the discount will automatically applied if logged into your account. Individual Event Tickets. You are also more than welcome to join us by selecting tickets for the individual events.
