Music that pushes boundaries, that challenges, and that does things in new ways forms the basis of MK Chorale's inventive programme, with Cecilia McDowell's Da Vinci Requiem as its focus. This uses the normal Requiem text along with fragments from the notebooks of the 15th century inventor Leonardo da Vinci to create a new and exciting work which 'advances from a dark, contemplative opening to hopeful luminosity in the final movement'.

Alongside this is some of the most gorgeous music you'll ever hear on the theme of 'The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars'. Ešenvalds' Stars is accompanied by the ringing of wine glasses, Boulanger's Hymne au soleil is an atmospheric piece with rich harmonies, and Sing to the Moon by Mvula is an unaccompanied arrangement of a beautifully poignant song.
