Join recent graduates from the University of Nottingham BA Architecture course as using the quickfire Pecha Kucha format, the students will take us through their research and design processes.
Architecture students at the University of Nottingham have spent the academic year studying The New Town of Milton Keynes and proposing design projects for the city. The theme of the year has been GreenTown ’23, referencing the ambitious - but unbuilt - 1970s plans for a third garden city in MK.
Design projects include experimental eco-housing in Campbell Park, inspired by past housing expos for which the city is famous. Environmentally themed, pop-up pavilions designed for various sites across CMK also feature. Thesis design projects consider creative reuse of key CMK buildings including the Bus Station, The Point, Lloyds Court and the Santander Building, and new-build proposals for other sites. Sites outside CMK include Netherfield, MK Hospital, Two Mile Ash and Linford Lakes.
