Drypoint Printing using recycled TetraPac and eco-friendly products.
In this drop-in, Susan will help families translate drawings of winter flora and fauna into prints using a form of engraving dating back to the 15th Century but updated with the use of 21st century materials.
The drypoint mark has a unique quality giving immediate and raw impact to sketched lines. As well as being drawn into with a needle, the plate can be cut into to create areas of greys.
Participants will cut out their plate from tetrapac cartons to any shape they like. They will be shown how to build up the image on their plate with line and tone to add depth. The plate is then ready for the press. Participants will be able to roll their print through the press to transfer their artwork onto the dampened paper.
