Body Arcana Performance

The Body Arcana Performance with local artist Lesley Asare starts with a curious question: If your body could speak, what would it say? This question acts a springboard for the discovery of life lessons and resources that a body holds through movement. Using her body and oil bars on paper, Asare will create a series of large scale drawings. After the performace, there will be a Q & A and participants will have the opportunity to explore their own life themes.

Using the themes explored in Asare’s performance, a second workshop on Saturday 28 May aims to create the space for self reflection through movement drawing and writing. Participants will connect to their bodies, breathe, move and nourish themsleves with ease and give rise to what is alive in them in a safe place. For young people aged between 16 – 25 years old, there will be a dedicated workshop on Saturday 28 May, with the opportunity to come with an open heart and the willingness to self-reflect, share, and connect.
