Showtime for Midsummer Place
Published - Friday, 23 October, 2009
This Friday and Saturday (30th & 31st) will see the spectacular conclusion to Midsummer Place’s annual Fashion Fortnight. To celebrate two weeks of style, the centre is putting on a glamour-filled two day catwalk for shoppers to enjoy. On both days, passersby can catch stunning new Autumn/Winter collections from Midsummer Place retailers on stage, produced by the same people responsible for London’s Clothes Show Live 2009.

“This will be Milton Keynes’ biggest fashion event of the year, so we’re expecting a huge turnout” said Centre Manager Martin Hindson. The event will be hosted by Jon Pierce, who has worked with the likes of Graham Norton and Gok Wan, and produced for major shows including Channel 4’s ‘How to Look Good Naked.’

“Expect a high end, high energy show of entertainment and celebration of fashion in MK over the two days. The show has been put together by an industry leading choreographer; the dancers are fresh from the ‘Take That’ Circus tour and the models have just come from the Clothes Show Lives’ main stage. We’ve pulled out all the stops to make this a spectacular and unforgettable event,” said the show’s coordinator Jon Pierce.

Animated projections, plasma TV screens and crowd interaction all promise to add a unique aspect to the catwalk, with each show lasting 15-20 minutes. Six will run on each day at 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00 to ensure visitors can select times to suit them or watch the entire display – these will be at
