On Your Bike for MK Dons Challenge
Published - Wednesday, 27 January, 2010
MK Dons has set a marathon challenge for local businesses to raise money for its Sport and Education Trust (SET) and Help for Heroes. From Monday 15 February to Thursday 18, teams of six will be challenged to cover the greatest distance possible in six hours on static exercise bikes, in Midsummer Place Shopping Centre.

Entrance is a £300 minimum donation per team. Each person will receive an MK Dons match ticket, team challenge t-shirt and a signed team photo with Community Ambassador and first Team Coach, Paul Mitchell.

The team with the further distance cycled will win a Corporate Box and catering at a MK Dons First Team match; second place will also receive a Corporate Box without food; third place will get six Club Red tickets and a special prize will be awarded to the person that raises the most amount of money.

Sixteen teams in total can take part over half term holiday – four teams per day – and the winners will be announced on Friday 19th. Chairman, Pete Winkelman will officially launch the event on Monday 15th at 10am in Midsummer Place but teams need to register asap.

Paul Mitchell, MK Dons Community Ambassador and a member of the Football League’s Help for Heroes Ambassadors Team said; “We are hoping that as many companies as possible can support the challenge and help us reach our overall target of £20,000 as part of our Lands End to John O’Groats Bike Challenge in support of the SET and Help for Heroes. Having personally been affected by the loss of a friend in the Afghanistan conflict I’ am determined to try and rise as much as possible to make an impact for the brave men and women who have fought tirelessly throughout the conflict. Never have they once turned their back in the face of adversity and if we can help to make a better quality of life when these injured soldiers return then that’s our duty!!    ”

Énergie Fitness will be providing equipment and fitness advice for all participants.
