Step Up presents: The Art Room

The Art Room showcases work from Step Up, Arts for Health MK’s artist development programme which offers participants the opportunity to develop their creative skills and build their own art practice. Arts for Health MK is a charity which believes that arts and creativity play a huge role in improving health and wellbeing.

8 March / Soapbox An open mic night for creatives of all forms to share their work. This event marks International Women's Day.
15 March / Twentieth Century Conservation Areas - How Do We Protect the New Towns? Join the discussion at this illustrated meeting arranged by Milton Keynes Forum.
22 March / Splashgirl and Silent Monkey Live music from Norwegian 'doom-jazz' band Splashgirl and UK-based Silent Monkey.
29 March / House of John Player and Remy Martini Quartet Catchy and melodic anti-pop from House of John Player and synth-pop from Remy Martini Quartet.

3 March / JRPG, Good Carl and Safest Spaces Expect tears, sad samples, and short songs about teenage relationships from MK/Bucks two-piece JRPG, and emo music from Good Carl and Safest Spaces.
17 March / ATATAT and Twin Galaxxies ATATAT is a solo project using drums, contact mics, loops and processed vocals. Twin Galaxxies is an ambient, new age synth project.
31 March / Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society Their album, Magnetoception was selected by The Wire as the #3 record of 2015 and by Pitchfork as the #2 experimental record of the year.

South East Future Sounds Project
Friday 16 & 30 March / 2-4pm / Free
Led by Call & Response - an independent arts space in London which focuses on sound arts practice - this project seeks to test the potential for sound work and acoustic design to confront and explore issues surrounding the quality of our sonic environments.
