The city, known as ‘The City in the Country’, has over 50 miles of bank to fish with a wide range of fishing venues including lakes, canals, rivers and other waters. The waters give access to all major species of course fish.

Milton Keynes has over 25 lakes with over 300 acres of water - with numerous day ticket venues available. There is also 9.5 miles of the Grand Union Canal where a record 37lb carp has been caught. The canal has been the setting for numerous national competitions with every competitor catching fish. The city also features 12 miles of rivers including the Ouzel, Tove and Great Ouse which is home to numerous British record-breaking Barbel including the current record holder of over 21lb.

To give you a taster recent fish caught in MK waters include catfish over 39lb, carp over 37lb, barbel over 21lb, tench over 9lb and pike over 30lb – these could be your next catch!

Many venues are well-known throughout the fishing community with Furzton Lake having hosted the Women's World Match Fishing Championship and International Carp Matches and is shortlisted for any future World Championship to be held in the UK. The Great Ouse has featured on numerous television programmes including Record Breaking Fish, Total Fishing, Mainstream and Catching the Impossible.
