Suggested Shopping Itineraries

For shopaholics, Milton Keynes is simply a mecca that must be seen to be believed. One day just doesn’t do it justice but our suggested itineraries will help you make the most of the time you spend in this shopper’s paradise.

Going for the day ...
First up is spot of retail therapy at the city’s main under-cover shopping centres, thecentre:mk and Midsummer Place. All the high street names are here but you can also find some amazing specialist stores. Stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants in the Theatre District and then head over to Ikea for an afternoon of flat-packed furniture and mind-blowing bargains. And why not take the weight of those aching feet with a visit to the cinema to finish the day?

Staying for the weekend ...
If you plan it right, your Sunday morning can be spent strolling around the farmers' markets in either Olney (first Sunday of the month) or in Woburn (third Sunday of the month). In both you can relax over a drink and some lunch in one of the many and varied local restaurants. Then spend the afternoon looking around some of the many antique shops and specialist retailers, and maybe stop for refreshment at one of the tea-rooms.

Staying for longer ...
The market town of Stony Stratford has many long-established, traditional shops, or you might like to visit the large general open-air market at thecentre:mk (open everyday except Monday and Wednesday). You can also head out of the city centre to one of the retail parks in the Milton Keynes area. And if that hasn’t satisfied all your shopping needs then why not try Xscape with all its outdoor clothing and equipment stores?
