Today, intu Milton Keynes announced plans that could deliver one of the most significant retail and leisure developments Central Milton Keynes has seen in over a decade.
The multi-million pound investment will remodel and transform parts of the shopping centre to deliver an exciting, new and more exciting customer experience through a greatly improved dining offer, more shops, new public spaces and a state-of-the-art boutique cinema.
The plans, which will be unveiled as part of a public consultation at intu Milton Keynes on Thursday 12 March, have already been presented to a series of focus groups and stakeholders in Milton Keynes, and adapted accordingly. Now, intu Milton Keynes invites the public to share their views on the future of the shopping centre.
Martin Breeden, regional director of intu, said: “We think we can make much more of the area and create a really good and much more lively public space on the Boulevard. The areas just outside the entrances to intu Milton Keynes along the Boulevard will also be significantly improved by the plans.”
Included within the development proposal:
Martin Breeden adds: “We want to ensure we offer our customers a better choice of food, retail and leisure that is easily accessible and has a wide appeal. The plans deliver this in a way that is sensitive to the city’s distinctive urban design and complements the existing architecture. However, it is important for us to hear the public’s perception and hear their views at the consultation.”
A public consultation will be located opposite Waterstones in intu Milton Keynes and is open from Thursday 12 March at 10am until Saturday 14 March. Visitors are invited to meet with members of the intu team to discuss the plans, offer opinions and raise any concerns. Feedback is welcomed in person or online at www.intu.co.uk/miltonkeynes.
