Date Posted:14/08/2019

The MousetrapWant to know why Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap is the longest running show of any kind in the history of theatre?
Curious as to what has kept people guessing whodunit for so long?  We have the technology to enlighten you.
Or rather, as this is 1950 when technology consisted of clunky telephones with dials and radiograms disguised as sideboards, we have the real thing coming to Milton Keynes Theatre so you can find out exactly what all the fuss is about for yourself!
On October 6th, it will be 67 years since Agatha Christie’s murder mystery cum drawing room comedy opened in the West End.  It actually broke the British theatre history record for longest-running show as early as April 1958.  Since then generations of playgoers – both foreign and home-grown – have flocked to see the drama that is a star in its own right.  This is perhaps why…
Take a random group of people in a country house who are cut off by the snow with no means to contact the outside world.  No one is quite what they seem. They all have secrets. All of a sudden they discover, to their horror, that there is a murderer in their midst… Add to that shuddering suspense, a brilliantly intricate plot where danger lurks around every corner and a secret that has been kept by millions of people the world over!   Suspect everyone in the ultimate murder mystery.
The Mousetrap stars Susan Penhaligon as the snooty former magistrate, Mrs. Boyle alongside actors including,  David Alcock  as Mr Paravicini, Geoff Arnold as Detective Sgt. Trotter and Harriett Hare as Mollie Ralston.  The show is directed by Gareth Armstrong.
