Summer of Cycling in MK!

Date Posted:03/08/2016

Cycling in Milton KeynesIf you’ve been inspired by the recent success of Chris Froome in the Tour de France there’s plenty of cycling activities and training coming up over the next few weeks.

Whatever age or ability there are free guided rides available to join to get back in the saddle, build up your confidence on a bike or just simply to meet other cyclists and enjoy riding around cycle routes that take in MK’s Redways, countryside and attractions.

There are regular activities every week including free Ladies Only Rides, Family Rides, Health Rides around MK plus free family cycle training and adult cycle training (Bikeability Level 2 – basic cycling skills). For information about these and other cycling groups visit www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/get-cycling

Even if you don’t have a bike, you can rent one from the new Santander scheme or if you are an employee your employer may run a scheme like Cyclescheme or SmartGo to help you purchase a bike and equipment to get started.

To keep your bike/s safe the Council has teamed up with Thames Valley Police to offer free bike marking and safety checks by a qualified mechanic provided by Corley Cycles.

These free Dr Bike sessions will be in Station Square between 4-7pm on:
•    15 August
•    19 September
•    17 October
