Date Posted:12/05/2014

Midsummer PlaceThe people of Milton Keynes have voted and Midsummer Place Shopping Centre is excited to announce its Style Hero is Rachel Skinn.  Rachel triumphed over the other 44 stylish contestants to be crowned Style Hero of Milton Keynes in the Midsummer Place Street Style Campaign.

The campaign launched in early April to find the Centre’s most stylish shoppers.  There were three rounds over a 3 week period; the person with the most votes each week entered into the final.  The votes for the three finalists were reset and at the end of the fourth week, the person with the most votes was crowned Milton Keynes’ Ultimate Style Hero, winning £250 worth of prizes.

Rachel is a 41 year old pre-school teacher and mum from Bromham in Bedfordshire who loves to shop in Milton Keynes.  She gets her style inspiration from high street trends, magazines and celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and TOWIE’s Jessica Wright.

The competition isn’t over though; Rachel is now representing Milton Keynes in the national stage of the competition.  To be in with a chance of winning and becoming the intu National Style Hero, Rachel needs as many votes as possible.  Voting for the final commenced on Monday 5th May and is open until 10am on Monday 19th May.

There are 12 finalists from the regional heats, as voted for by the public.  The Ultimate National Style Hero will win a glamorous photo shoot, a VIP trip to the Elite Model Look Grand Final, a £500 gift card to spend at their local intu centre and £500 to spend on intu's website, where they can indulge in designer treats from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Isabel Marant and Michael Kors.  To top it off they could also become the face of an intu campaign.

Martin Hindson, General Manager at Midsummer Place Shopping Centre, said:  “We’re thrilled with the finalist that the public has selected; Rachel is a great representative for Milton Keynes.  We all need to get behind Rachel as much as we can to give her the best chance possible in the national competition.”
