Martial Arts Championship coming to ArenaMK

Date Posted:02/06/2015

Macto Championships Milton KeynesMacto (Mak-Toe) Championships have arrived; a game changing step in the evolution of Britain's MMA landscape with the objective to produce an aptitude for excellence through honour and ability, taking Mixed Martial Arts in this country to the next level!

Meaning 'to glorify-to honour-to fight', Macto is brought to you by the prolific management team of Ross Laurence, Wad Alameddine and Chris Emmanuel in collaboration with the duo of James Lutman and Bradley Burnell, the former founders of successful Surrey based promotion ‘TMT: Too Much Talent’.

Based in Milton Keynes, Macto are here to bring you the best show on offer in UK MMA - this being an attitude that was born with the promotion's inception.
Macto are set to hit the Arena:MK on June 27 with what will no doubt be an explosive inaugural show boasting high production value and a diverse line up, as well as some of the best commentators, judges, ring girls and back house staff in the UK.

A host of quality bouts can be expected starting with high level amateur competition followed by standout K-1 practitioners and a series of professional MMA bouts featuring a number of prominent contenders from the UK and beyond.

The Macto management team have wasted no time in producing a prominent card with headline fights on par with any top domestic show.   Matco have put the MMA community on notice with a stirring main event of the evening featuring Team Rough House alumnus and New Wave Academy founder Nick 'Slick' Osipczak making his eagerly anticipated return MMA competition.

30-year-old Osipczak is a UFC and Ultimate veteran who feels Macto will provide the ideal platform for his road back to the Las Vegas based promotion. Osipczak is back after a five year hiatus from the sport in which he took time to travel the world and evolve into an all new breed of fighter. The presentation of Osipczak 2.0 on June 27 is not something to be missed.

In the co-main event, 6'3 welterweight Alex Montagnani will bring unpredictable excitement as he looks to continue the fearsome reputation gained from his memorable flying knee knockout of Tim Menzies last June.

Montagnani will face the veteran David 'One More' Round whose endurance and punching power has earned him 12 stoppage victories, often against larger opponents in his 25 bout career to date.

In addition, light-heavyweight MMA veteran and Muay Thai specialist Fraser 'The Omen' Opie will be competing in K-1 rules action; continuing his return to stand-up competition having recently spent time training at the world renown Tiger Muay Thai camp in Phuket, Thailand.

The Milton Keynes based South African will meet fellow kickboxing specialist Louis 'KO' King in an eruptive match up with the hallmarks of a turbulent encounter. Furthermore, Opie will be donating the total sum of his ticket commission to Macmillan Cancer Support in honour of good friend Joe Deeney who was diagnosed in April.

Macto bouts will take place in a 30ft octagon and will fall in line with SafeMMA and IMMAF regulation, the leading governing bodies in Europe.

Further announcements of athletes from around the globe are soon to follow.
