Throughout the summer Milton Keynes College is connecting with the local community to showcase the talents and skills developed by our students.
At the centre of the summer’s activities is the College’s first ever Festival in the City, a free five-day event located in Middleton Hall at the centre:mk across multiple stages, tents and arenas which will provide the perfect platform for bringing our student talent, community and employer partnerships to life.
Each day will feature a number of exciting and interactive highlights, taking the form of a summer festival with a packed line-up and headline acts.
Wednesday 10th June: Festival of Creativity
Our opening celebration event is set to begin proceedings in style, so join us in our celebration of Vocational Qualification day and find out how to kick start your career at MK College. Be amazed by the art, design, fashion and photography exhibition or take in the live fashion show on the Center Parcs Main Stage, which will also be the venue later in the day for a live console tournament with our Media and Games team.
Alternatively, treat yourself to complimentary treatments in the Graduate Hair & Beauty Tent with Gregory Max Barbers or join in with free face painting and crafts in the Xero Live Tent.
Thursday 11th June: Festival of Futures
A day dedicated to helping a variety of people take the next step in their careers with a range of events and presentations designed to develop skills and improve opportunities, before a live performance from one of MK College’s many talented students, Bailey McConnell.
Friday 12th June: Festival of Lifestyle
On the Center Parcs Main Stage, the Professional and Student Barber of the Year contests reach their pinnacle with live finals. Expect cut-throat competition and a close shave or two as the city’s finest stylists go head-to-head for the ultimate honours.
Saturday 13th June: Festival in the City
Relax and enjoy a musical extravaganza with performances from our own Performing Arts Students, Vandyke Upper School and culminating in a first-class ensemble from Milton Keynes City Orchestra on the Centre Parcs Main Stage.
Sunday 14th June: Festival of Food
Combining culinary skills with competitive instincts, the Center Parcs Main Stage will play host to a series of chef challenges and cook-offs featuring our passionate catering students and top-class professionals. Meanwhile, take in the interactive workshops and food demonstrations in the Xero live tent for your chance to sharpen up your own skills and try something new.
