Gangsta Granny has Milton Keynes Theatre in her sights

Date Posted:26/01/2016

Birmingham Stage Company, the acclaimed producers of Horrible Histories, George’s Marvellous Medicine and Tom’s Midnight Garden, are bringing their world premiere stage adaptation of David Walliams’ best-selling children’s story, Gangsta Granny, to Milton Keynes Theatre in February immediately prior to a West End run.

Ask most kids what they’d like most for their tea and the answer probably won’t be cabbage. For Ben, it’s his worst nightmare because, up until now, staying with Granny every Friday night has only meant one thing; cabbage soup, cabbage pie and cabbage cake.

It’s sooooooo boring! But Granny has a secret - and life is about to get more exciting than Ben could ever imagine as he embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his very own Gangsta Granny!

Gangsta Granny is a real family show. Whether you’re five or 105, it’s laugh out loud funny but there’s still space within the story to explore some very moving and truthful things about family relationships.

"The brilliant Birmingham Stage Company has produced a fantastic show. It's superb! And so much better than the book!"
(David Walliams)
