Explosive live action on the streets of Milton Keynes

Date Posted:12/08/2015

Clash of Drums Rugby World CupTo celebrate Rugby World Cup 2015, on Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3, the streets of Milton Keynes will become the setting for an explosive and dramatic spectacular as international companies Les Commandos Percu (France) and Deabru Beltzak (from the Basque region of Spain) ‘do battle’ in Clash of Drums.

In a symbolic collision, the two tribes combine powerful drumming, percussion and bold movement in a whirlwind of vivid colour, whilst using fireworks, pyrotechnics and special effects as the combat action moves through the streets and onto the stage next to The Point for the thrilling fiery finale.

Throughout, the audience is in close proximity to the action to witness the clash of cultures and these two war-painted devilish forces coming together to reclaim the streets as their own before disappearing back into the dark night from whence they came, their combative fury transformed into a common energy unified by fire.

Bought to you by The Stables and IF: Milton Keynes International Festival, with participation co-ordinated by Festive Road, Clash of Drums: Danbor Talka is an awe-inspiring extravaganza not to be missed!

Commissioned by The Parks Trust Events Ltd and supported by Arts Council England, Milton Keynes Council and Institut Français with Région Midi-Pyrénées.

Saturday October 3: Parade starts in Campbell Park at 9.30pm
