Calcutta launches 'Try Before You Buy' curry

Date Posted:29/07/2015

Calcutta BrasserieCalcutta Brasserie in Stony Stratford is launching its second initiate to encourage guests to ‘explore their palate’ and sample new dishes; the new initiative is called the ‘Curry Nam?n?’ – meaning ‘small sample’.

From 27 July, customers can ask to sample most dishes from the menu before they make their choice. A small sample pot will be brought from the kitchen for the guest to try a taster before deciding which dish to order.

“We want to give our customers choice and variety and allow them to try new experiences,” says Restaurant Manager, Ali Ajmol. He adds: “You can go into a bar and ask to sample a wine or an ale so why not sample a dish from the menu. The portion will be very small but enough to give our customers a flavour of the dish without making any commitment to order.”

Two months ago, Calcutta Brasserie launched its Combi menu where customers can order two main dishes from a set menu for one price. Again, designed to encourage people to try new dishes, the Combi menu has taken off and become a hit for weekday diners.

Now, the ‘Curry Nam?n?’ is available seven days a week and is only available on a selection of popular dishes.
