Are You Tomorrow’s Style Hero?

Date Posted:26/03/2014

Street Style Midsummer PlaceMidsummer Place Shopping Centre is launching its national Street Style campaign to find its most stylish shopper, who could win £1,000 and become the face of a national intu campaign.

On the first three Saturdays in April (5th, 12th & 19th), the Centre’s ‘Style Hunter’ will be scouting the malls for inspiring fashionistas.  Anyone that she thinks has a great look and sense of style is in with a chance so those keen to get involved need to be in the Centre to ensure they get spotted!   The Style Hunter will then photograph each potential winner (with their permission) and load the shots onto a special app where voting for Milton Keynes’ Style Hero will begin.

The app will be available on the Centre’s Facebook page in the tab section and on its website. Between 7th and 27th April, the public will be able to access the app where they can vote for their favourite ‘Street Style’ look.  More contestants will be added to the mix each week; votes are limited to one per person so voters need to consider carefully.  The Street Style candidate with the most votes at the end of April will become the ultimate MK Style Hero.  The winner will receive a selection of prizes to the value of £250 and two runner-ups will win smaller prizes.  There will also be a prize draw for voters; everyone that casts a vote will be automatically entered to be in with a chance of winning £100 in vouchers.

The lucky winner and newly crowned Style Hero of Milton Keynes will then be entered into a national competition, together with the winners from all 13 intu Shopping Centres across the UK.   The public will then vote for their National Style Hero.  The winner will become the face of a national intu campaign and will receive £500 to spend on intu’s website where they can buy items from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Isabel Marant and Michael Kors, as well as £500 to spend at their local intu Shopping Centre.

Martin Hindson, General Manager at Midsummer Place Shopping Centre, said:  “As one of the UK’s most fashionable shopping destinations we’re on a quest to find our most stylish shoppers. We want to capture our shoppers’ authentic style in their natural environment and use these images to inspire others to try new things.  It doesn’t matter if you’re 18 or 80 – if you’ve got great style we’ll spot you on our malls!  By leaving the voting to the public to vote we’ll get a true reflection of what our shoppers think is stylish.”

Entrants must be over 18.
