360 Play choose Harry’s Rainbow as Charity of the Year for 2016

Date Posted:09/02/2016

360 Play Harrys RainbowFollowing its recent search for a local charity to support in the Milton Keynes area, 360 Play family entertainment centre in Knowlhill has announced that Harry’s Rainbow will be its official charity for 2016.

360 Play is a popular destination for families with young children and as it continues to be increasingly involved in and to work with the city and the local community it has once again chosen a local children’s charity to support in various ways throughout the coming year as its ‘official’ charity.

Harry’s Rainbow provides support for children, young people and their families who have been bereaved through the loss of a close relative and was founded in 2011 by Lee and Odette Mould, following the sudden death of their 5 year old son, Harry Mould, twin to Jessica.

“We were travelling one and a half hours to a Child Bereavement UK centre to gain support for Jessica and felt we could do something for others in a similar situation closer to home,” Odette explains. “We support children and young people of Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, who have been bereaved of a parent or sibling. The type of support we offer ranges, but includes support and information via our website or Facebook pages, resources and books (to both families and schools) invitations to our Rainbow group and other trips, as well as a break in our Rainbow Home. Support is continuous for as long as the families need and want it.”

All the services provided by the charity are free and the organisation is run by a dedicated team of trustees and volunteers.

Commenting on the choice of this year’s charity, 360 Play’s group sales and marketing manager Billie-Jan Hills said: “Harry’s Rainbow is a wonderful organisation for 360 Play to support as the official charity for our Milton Keynes centre in 2016. I know that Odette and her colleagues believe in increasing self-esteem and confidence through general wellbeing days, such as days out, play time and mini-breaks with family which is in line with our own belief in the power and freedom of play, so it’s an excellent match.

“We’ll be supporting Harry’s Rainbow in a number of ways and look forward to working with Odette and her team in providing some new fund raising opportunities which will benefit the organisation, be it charity events held by 360 Play, the use of our centre by Harry’s Rainbow for fundraising events, raffle prizes or other activities.”
