The 2010 Theatre District Christmas event on Sunday 28 November promises to be the best yet. They have a full line up of fantastic entertainment, including Britain’s Got Talent finalists Nemisis dance troupe, FREE kids rides supplied by Keith Emmett and at select restaurants in the District that weekend – KIDS EAT FREE!

The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Debbie Brock, will be doing the honours actually switching on the lights and throughout the event funds will be raised to support her two charities, Willen Hospice and Bletchley Park.

The festivities will commence around 4pm with the MK Brass Band opening the ceremony and they will be followed around 4.20pm by Nemisis dance troupe demonstrating their amazing talent.  Local, friendly mascots will be out and about ready to meet and greet and there will also be a couple of fun fair rides for the youngsters to enjoy free of charge, though a donation to charity is appreciated.

The fun and entertainment continues with the wonderful Junction 14 Ladies Choir and the chance for everyone to have a traditional Christmas sing along just before the lights are switched on.  Mulled wine and refreshments will be available throughout the event courtesy of the Theatre District restaurants.

As a special Christmas treat during the whole weekend kids can eat free at: Slug & Lettuce, Bella Italia, Ortega, Lloyds No 1, Pizza Hut, V-Lounge and Thai, as long as an adult buys a full price main course (check terms and conditions for each venue displayed on their door or window).

The light switch on will take place in the central area of the Theatre District – between Opus and Bella Italia.  The event will start around 4pm with the official ‘light up’ between 5.30 – 5.45pm.  The event is open to all ages though we recommend you wrap up warm as the weather cannot be guaranteed!
