Families can enjoy traditional seaside fun, digging and building sandcastles, as well as experience a new interactive and educational marine area at ‘Secrets of the Sea’ discovery huts. Children can learn all about the deep sea and fill in fact sheets along their journey in the huts to be in with the chance of winning one of our six family days out to the London aquarium, free for all to enjoy.
Daily activity will entertain the crowd with MK Dons Sport Community sessions on Tuesday and Thursday 4.30 – 6.30pm, Punch and Judy shows every Wednesday hourly from 11.30am until 3.30pm, and children’s discos with Heart Radio on Friday from 6pm-8pm. Traditional sea side rides and activities will bring smiles with a helter skelter, carousel, crazy golf and climbing palm trees (prices apply).
This year thecentre:mk also invite retailers to join the seaside scene, to sell their beach themed wares in traditional Victorian carts. Costa will provide refreshments and snacks to guests relaxing on the sand, with their mini cafe on the beach, raised on a platform to create a desirable viewing point within Middleton Hall.
Melanie Beck Head of Marketing and Communication at thecentre:mk, comments “The Beach returns to thecentre:mk, with 1.2 million visitors last year, this year the beach has a new lease of life, educational and interactive marine elements, our retailers join us on the beach to sell seaside treats and Costa ensure everyone is refreshed taking our seaside shack. We also welcome the RNLI to the beach this year, supporting the important work they carry out on our coastlines. We hope that everyone will enjoy the excitement we have injected into the event and join us for free activities with local businesses such as the MK Dons and Heart Radio.”
