thecentre:mk take to new heights
Published - Wednesday, 17 August, 2011
thecentre:mk hot air balloon made its debut at this year’s Northampton Balloon Festival. It took flight every morning and evening over the weekend of the 19 August and took part in the beautiful 9pm Saturday evening ‘glow’ of balloons. The balloon is an exciting project for thecentre:mk, which creates an iconic symbol for the centre to fly across England in, over the coming year.

Regional shopping destination thecentre:mk have launched a Facebook competition to run throughout the festival, calling for amateur and professional photographers to upload their photos of thecentre:mk branded balloon to the Facebook page. The winning photo will be selected from the shortlisted top three photos with the most ‘likes’ and be used to promote the balloon at other festivals later on in the year, such as its second outing at the Bucks County Show on 1 September. The winning picture will win £100 of Jessops vouchers, to spend at thecentre:mk store.

Melanie Beck, head of marketing and communications at thecentre:mk comments, “This is such an exciting new venture for us, into the world of ballooning. We hope that people will enjoy spotting our balloon at its debut festival and take part in our Facebook competition by sharing their photos with us.”
