The Stables' CEO, Monica Ferguson, said "This is fantastic news for The Stables and for Milton Keynes. To be recognised as one of the UK's leading music venues alongside the likes of The Southbank and The Sage, Gateshead pays tribute to the huge volume of concerts we present and the significant audiences we are attracting from across the UK."
Sally Abbott, Director of Arts at Arts Council England, South East, commented: "We’re absolutely delighted that The Stables has been ranked alongside some of the UK’s major flagship music venues. We are proud to have supported the venue over many years and would like to congratulate Monica and her hardworking and passionate team for this well deserved accolade."
