SK8MK Buszy skate plaza on show

SK8MK have been asked by EWx 2007 show organiser Brintex Ltd to design a skate sculpture called the Bus Station 2 which will be skated by Milton Keynes skaters on the three days of the exhibition.

EWx is the largest external works exhibition in the UK and takes place at the NEC in April. Visitors can see and experience the latest in traffic engineering and parking techniques, as well as  the latest products and services in groundwork, outdoor children's play, street lighting and street furniture.

A few of many reasons which point towards SK8MK being selected to design for the exhibition are:

- Being the first of its kind to produce a plaza type skate park in the UK.

- Being the only unique skate plaza in Britain to involve an exhaustive public consultation due to its location and how it allows the design to blend into the existing architecture rather than being a strictly designated area for skateboarders.

 - Winning the LGC community involvement award 2006.

Following on from this exciting exhibition, Milton Keynes will host the Battle of the Buszy on Saturday 2 June. This is a competition for sponsored and non-sponsored skateboarders who are welcome from anywhere around the world.

The event will be sponsored by Plan-B which is one of the top leading skateboard companies in America. It will also be sponsored by DCshoes which is also another top leading skateboard company in America. There are plans for the American Plan-B team to come to the event as they are doing a tour around England at the same time.

One of the Plan-B riders who might be present at the Battle of the Buszy is world-famous Danny Way. He has broken two world records which can be seen in the Guinness Book of Records and is world-famous for being the first person ever to jump the Great Wall of China on a skateboard.

There will be a cash prize up for grabs which totals £1500 and a chance to see some of the greatest skateboarders in the world.
