Have you facebook’d Santa yet?

With Christmas creeping ever closer thecentre:mk Santa Claus has launched himself into the digital age by opening his very own facebook account ‘Santa Atthecentremk’. Santa’s page contains information about himself and his preparations, provides another way in which Christmas letters can get to the North Pole and he’s even opened an Event on the site to provide more information about thecentre:mk’s Christmas show in Middleton Hall.

Launched on the 22 October to a select group, ‘Santa Atthecentremk’ already has over 150 friends and is receiving Christmas wish lists by the day. The page was set up with the aim for Santa to communicate directly with the public in the lead up to Christmas, show recent developments in the Christmas Show including images and videos; also Santa hopes to run some exclusive competitions through his facebook account (if he has time during this very busy time for him!)

“I have to move with the times,” commented Santa from his Lapland home. “My elves are constantly on facebook and I thought it was great way to communicate with the children in Milton Keynes and the surrounding region. The post office can be very stretched at Christmas time and this is a fantastic way for me to receive Christmas wish lists.

All the same rules apply. I’m making my list; I’m checking it twice and will find out who’s been naughty or nice. In the meantime, I look forward to seeing everyone in Middleton Hall at thecentre:mk.”

Santa arrives and opens his Grotto on the 17 November and will be in residence until the 24th of December.  On the 17 November you can join the fun of Santa’s Procession as a giant magical train lantern carries Santa through the malls and down to Middleton Hall to open his magnificent Grotto! Wave and cheer as the long winding train with its enchanting illuminated lanterns and sparkling costumes, wends its way, dancing and singing through the shopping centre towards the Christmas show.

You can also email Santa via his new address santa@thecentremk.com – so you can send your Christmas lists there as well

If you visit www.thecentremk.com you can now book online for Santa’s Grotto to avoid any disappointment. The Grotto Opening times are 9am-6pm Mon-Sat in November, 9am-7pm Mon-Sat in December, 10am-6pm Sundays throughout November and December, Christmas Eve: Santa's Grotto closes completely at 1pm but the train remains open until 6pm whilst everything is closed on Christmas Day. The Christmas display and train ride open on the 7 November.
