Established in 1975, MKCO plays an important role in the cultural life of the city as a valuable arts resource for the local area, as well as engaging in the local business community.
Interdirect first worked with MKCO in 2007 to build its original website. Now, the refresh showcases the very best of the number one classical music resource in our region, as well as displaying the quality and capability of Interdirect’s latest version of its content management system, SiteMachine.
Built with a modern and up to date design, the focus of the refresh was to promote usability and widen the website’s appeal not just to its existing audience but to the general public and musicians of a younger generation too.
The refresh has enabled Interdirect to make changes to the structure of the website, so that visitors can now navigate the site with ease and get the best possible user experience. The new design, which features strong colours and large imagery, allows for easy and enjoyable browsing as well as increased functionality. With two new secure areas, one for musicians and the other for patrons, users will have extended access to exclusive and user specific information.
The website, which went live at the beginning of August, adds to the growing number of charitable projects that Interdirect supports. In June Interdirect launched a new website for MK Marathon 2012, and following the refresh of the MKCO website, Interdirect will be redesigning websites for Milton Keynes Community Foundation and MK Snap; two valuable charitable organisations within Milton Keynes. Interdirect also supports Willen Hospice, Northamptonshire Community Foundation and MK Dons.
Nicholas Mann, managing director and founder of Interdirect says: “We are proud to support community projects that benefit so many local people. Interdirect has a strong relationship with MKCO and will continue to support future redevelopments of its website.”
Anna Denny, General Manager of Milton Keynes City Orchestra says: “The new website is fantastic, and really reflects the current look and feel of the orchestra. The website’s image led design showcases the orchestra and the venues we use, delivering real impact to anyone visiting the website as a first port of call for further information about MKCO.”
Nick Cutts, Operations Manager of Milton Keynes City Orchestra says: “The new version of Interdirect’s content management system (CMS), SiteMachine, is a real joy to use, it is easy to navigate, and makes updating the website a simple and enjoyable task, we simply couldn’t have asked for anything more from the refreshed site.”
