Midsummer Place history
Midsummer Place was a £170 million development in the Millennium year that created over 2,000 jobs in Milton Keynes and welcomed new and dynamic brands such as Karen Millen, Debenhams, and Gap. On completion of the 1.65m square feet (450,000 sqm) development in September 2000, the Milton Keynes Shopping Centre became one of the largest regional shopping centres in the UK. Midsummer Place has become a destination for exhibitors, performers, shows and is also home to work by some of the most prestigious artists in Milton Keynes through Fringe MK.
One of the most recognised features is the Time Machine often referred to as the ‘Frog Clock’ that is One of the largest indoor animated clocks in the country.
Centre Manager, Martin Hindson said: “We are all really excited about the 10th Anniversary celebrations and are sure it will be a spectacular event for all of our shoppers & retailers.
