A very special new addition is expected at the safari park as Woburn celebrates the first pregnancy of Damini, their 17 year old Asian elephant. Damini, which is Indian for lightning / electric, is now 12 months into her pregnancy and still has a long way to go as an elephant pregnancy lasts up to 22 months, giving her a due date of April 2012. The proud father, 17 year old Asian elephant Raja also lives at Woburn.
The jumbo celebration sale runs as a 5 day Bank Holiday spectacular and tickets are available online now, for entry from the 26th to the 30th August.
This exceptional offer means everyone can enter the park at child prices, that’s only £14.95 per person. Simply book tickets in advance on the website, or look in the local Luton, MK and Northampton papers for your voucher. It’s the perfect excuse to treat the family to an exciting day out that won’t cost the earth.
Have you ever wanted to ‘meet and greet’ an enormous Asian Elephant? Because our elegant ladies Damini and Chandrika are waiting to greet you for an elephant encounter at 3.30pm every day this summer. You can listen to fascinating talks from the elephant keepers and get extra close up to these magnificent animals in the Elephant Encounter paddock.
Wild days out at Woburn this summer just became even more thrilling with the opening of the new ‘Treetops Action Trail’ course for junior adventurers. This fantastic high ropes course is designed for children aged 7-11 years of age (height restrictions apply) and is an awesome 45 minutes, for only a tiny additional £3.99 fee! Similar courses around will cost around £15, so this is a great deal you simply can’t refuse.
With total safety in mind, our instructors ensure full introductions are given and each child is clipped into a harness and safety line from start to finish. Fearless kids will be eager to climb and clamber up the high ropes whilst enjoying the exhilaration of viewing the park from high above!
Adults can watch as they climb the course and master each of the twenty exciting elements, including the Burma Bridge, Organ Pipes and the Spiders Web sections. The Action Trail is open from 12 until 6pm and children will love testing their nerve, before swooping back down to ground level on the final zip wire.
Your ticket includes unlimited circuits of the safari, keeper talks, animal feeding times and demonstrations, a giant bouncy castle, the Great Woburn Railway, Swan Boats, Bobcat Run slide, maps and timetables!
Visit www.woburn.co.uk for details of special JUMBO sale prices and opening times and you can book online to ensure you don’t miss out!
