Go Ape is an exhilarating way to enjoy the great outdoors, have some high-wire fun and rediscover your very own sense of adventure. The new course at Woburn is one of four new courses launching this year. The existing 17 courses have been enjoyed by over a million adventure seekers, climbing rope ladders up into the trees and experiencing the thrills of tree-trekking some 40ft above the forest floor. Go Ape, which uses locally sourced materials wherever possible, will be creating 15 local jobs at the new course in Woburn Safari Park.
Chris Webster, Chief Executive of Woburn Safari Park, says: “Until now only the monkeys and lemurs have enjoyed the trees at Woburn Safari Park – now our visitors and ‘Go Apers’ are going to do exactly the same. We are very excited about Go Ape – it is all about fun and excitement and, about families being active together. It is also the only Go Ape course where you get a view that might include elephants! We like the way it sits sensitively in the environment it operates in. These are Woburn’s values too and we look forward to the course being a great success as well as broadening the leisure and corporate offering here.”
Before you set off on your Go Ape treetop journey you’ll be fitted with a harness and given a safety briefing. The course is split into five separate sections and linked together by natural footpaths. Each section begins with a rope ladder climb into the treetops, where an assortment of exciting obstacles and Tarzan swings lead to a spectacular zip slide back down to the forest floor. The course is set in a beautiful location overlooking the Safari Park, so whatever the weather, you have the freedom to experience around three hours of adrenalin-fuelled fun and adventure with family, friends and colleagues.
