French market at Stony Stratford

The tastes and smells of Normandy come to Stony Stratford when a French traders’ food and craft market from Normandy visits the town for the first time on Friday 16 September. Cheeses from all regions of France will be available together with bread and croissants cooked on site.

A charcuterie will be selling cooked meats and Normandy pâté. Sausages, mustards, olives, sweets, nuts, Turkish delight, dried fruits and oriental pastries are also on the menu. No French market would be complete without crepes and take-away food too.

As well as food the market at Odell’s Yard in the High Street will feature craft items with soaps from Marseille, tablecloths, aprons, scarves, jewellery and handbags.

David Odell says, “This is very exciting for Stony Stratford. We already have a Saturday market and a farmers’ market each month in the town and Odell’s
Yard holds several specialist markets during the year. But this is the first time we’ve teamed with French retailers and welcomed them here.

Stony Stratford is different, its shops are different and what they stock is different from the average high street.  We’re offering yet another different shopping experience and we’re sure that our customers will enjoy the opportunities it brings. As we say in Stony: “vive la difference!”

The market will run from 9 am until 4pm on Friday 16th September at Odell’s
Yard, 60 High Street, Stony Stratford.
