The “Santa Atthecentremk” Facebook account was launched last year in the build up to Christmas and now has over 2,000 friends. The application “Letter to Santa” was created to help time poor people fill in their Christmas lists and to ensure there aren’t delays due to postal strikes. The user opens the application selects whether they have been ‘Good’ or ‘Bad’, fills in the subsequent form which asks what they want, and asks them to name good and bad deeds they’ve done this year. A Christmas letter is then automatically generated and posted to the user’s wall for everyone to see.
Jackie Tracey, Events Manager at thecentre:mk commented on the development, “Last year we introduced Santa to Facebook as it was a great way for people to get in touch and communicate with him. However, with over 2,000 friends it’s increasingly difficult to monitor all their profiles and note down what they want.
Not only can Santa see what you want but so can your friends and family, if they’re feeling generous!”
