Local fitness club énergie, based in the Theatre District is doing its bit to support the cause this year; by participating in a 24 hour spin-a-thon.
On Friday 19 November at 12.00pm, around 22 staff and members from the club who have all volunteered their time for charity, will take it in turns to cycle over 24hrs in Midsummer Place Shopping Centre. The team will take it in turns to cycle on two static bikes non-stop for 24 hours, whilst collecting money for Children in Need, until 12.00pm on Saturday 20 November.
The annual appeal which is shown on the BBC is presented by Terry Wogan each year, and to add a twist the spin-a-thon team will be wearing head masks of the broadcaster, throughout the event.
The énergie team are calling on the people of Milton Keynes to come along to the shopping centre and support the event. Front of House Manager, Jason Lombard-Jordon commented:
“We’re all really geared up for the event here at énergie – and we’ve been amazed by how many members have wanted to get involved and show their support. Children In Need is a really worthy cause and we’re hoping to show our spots – and raise lots!”
Children in Need are a national organisation which aims to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantages children and young people across the UK. Their vision is to create a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their potential.
